Tips for travelling abroad for study Studying abroad expands and widens your horizons; it encourages comingling of two different cultures. Every student desires to study abroad and today this opportunity is accessible to a large population. Although, the idea seems very exciting initially but it is important to play safe. You can turn up your studying abroad experience as a memorable one and if you are not cautious; it can become your worst nightmare. Everything comes with its share of advantages and disadvantages.
 Some of the things to be kept in mind while travelling abroad are: 
Gather lots of information about the place you wish to study – Since you are travelling to a foreign country, it is advisable to gather information of that place. Surfing the internet, interacting with the people online, discussing with your friends will help you in knowing the place better. 

Keep your necessary documents handy and safe – While travelling you have to carry various documents like passport, tickets, academic records, application letter of the university and other important documents. These documents act as your identity proof in foreign land. Keep it handy and safe.

 Acquaint yourself with the people you will be studying with – Now a day’s internet acts as an important medium of communication. Along with you, there are numerous other students who will become or are already a part of the university you will be studying in, find them on university/college website and get familiar with them.

 Travel light – On your first visit don’t carry too much luggage, just travel light. When you will reach the place you will get to know your requirements, according to the place and weather, and then you can purchase the things as per your needs.

 Familiarize yourself with the laws of the country – Every country and university has its own rules and regulations for international students, if you are aware of it, then it can help you whenever you will require it. 
Don’t trust anyone blindly – While travelling alone always stay vigilant and don’t trust anyone blindly. There are many people who are on the lookout for easy targets who are new to a place. Don’t get lured by anything and anyone. 
Always keep emergency numbers in your reach – You never know when an emergency can arise. It is advisable to keep emergency numbers in our reach. 
Take your medication along, if required – If you are on prescribed medication, always carry your medicines with you. You don’t know whether you will be able to get it easily or not.
