The most veteran members of this group may remember Jangouts, one of the first open source Janus-based videoconference solutions. ;-)

We found some time to put together a new version (0.6.0) you can try at https://li2023-182.members.linode.com/ (we want to setup a demo site in a better place, but we never have time for such tasks).

This is the first Jangouts version with a reasonable separation between the code that handles the user interface and the one that interacts with Janus itself. So if you are planning to use Janus to build a similar solution it may be useful to take a look to the "src/janus-api" directory of Jangouts. We may even consider to extract that part to a separate package/repository in the future, although the current implementation uses outdated approaches to Janus usage and don't take advantage of all modern Janus features in their full power.

Even if you are not interested in building something similar, you may still want go give it a try and provide feedback. ;-)

Cheers.

Thanks for sharing, it's nice to hear the project is still alive!
Is this still based on Janus 0.x, or have you started experimenting with 1.x and multistream too?

It works with 1.x, but it doesn't take full advantage of all the 1.x features. Contributions in that regard are welcome, of course. ;-)

Cheers.
