Hi,

I have noticed recently that the Janus application when run in firefox browser is utilizing the resources (both memory and CPU) heavily. Please find the attached screenshots showing the memory usage by application at two different points of time , memory usage which is drastically increasing in my Mac machine when the Janus demo screen share is left running. Soon or later the memory and the SWAP and RAM will get completely used and will through the error. The Memory usage by firefox before running the screen share demo less than 500MB and now it shows 21GB. Do you know the reason why this happens. Is it something related to memory leak or is it storing the stream somewhere in the local machine?

Sounds like a question for the Firefox developers, not us?

Hi,

I tired running several random applications and tried playing youtube video on firefox, the resource utlisation seems to be minimal. But when Janus demo is been run we are having this memory spiking issue. not sure if its something related to webrtc or is it something related to Janus. So just thought about asking here.

If those random applications don't access microphone and camera (YouTube typically doesn't), then they're not really comparable, as it's the capture, encoding and encryption process in WebRTC that typically takes the heaviest toll.
