Today I updated Microsoft Word (for Mac) to the 16.21 version, then I realised that the Mendeley (1.19.3) Word plug-in does not work anymore, i.e. I cannot work with the reference system on a Word's file.
We recognize that interoperability is vitally important to Mendeley users. Our users should be able to easily integrate what they are doing on Mendeley with other applications and tools. We also want to ensure that this workflow experience is seamless: moving from our platform to one that you use for different tasks should be quick and simple to do.
First, we clearly heard from users that they want to be more in control of how and when they can export their PDFs, annotations and highlights directly from Mendeley. Improvements were released in Mendeley Desktop version 1.19.3 and further improvements to the export process will be released as part of Mendeley Desktop version 1.19.4.
UPDATE January 2020: We previously told you that the solution to the long-term stable Zotero integration would be available in the 1.19.5 release of Mendeley Desktop in 2019. We are now planning to release this solution in 2020, and the version number will be 1.19.6 and not 1.19.5 as we previously indicated in this blog post. Hi everyone, newbie here, need help.
I recently installed arch on my new XPS 15 9560 laptop. I followed page _XPS_15_9560, disabled gpu, and someother configs.
Everything seems fine, except mendeleydestop. Everytime i try to open pdf files in my mendeley, it crashes without any popup notifications.
I installed mendeley from pacman, version 1.19. I tried version 1.18 but still the same.
Can anybody help me with this? Thank you.

How did you install mendeleydestop ? On Arch, it is in the AUR; there appear to be both a mainstream and a dev version.
Is your system up to date? Did you rebuild mendeleydestop after the most resent full update?

How to Ask Questions the Smart Way
Post the contents of your pacman.conf then as you must have added a custom repo in able to have installed mendeleydesktop using pacman - it's definitely in the AUR not in the standard repositories. Or do you have pacman aliased to some other helper?
The mendelydesktop package in that repo is probably out of date and uses different library versions than does Arch Linux. I suggest you (a) contact the maintainer of that repo and ask that they fix it, or (b) uninstall mendelydesktop and install it from the AUR
I have the same problem on multiple machines. Started a few weeks ago, unfortunately I do not update every day nor do I use mendeley every day so i can not pin down the exact update which started this...
Most likely candidate is the Qt 5.11 update. A stop gap solution would be to change the PKGBUILD so that it doesn't remove the bundled static libs, that will increase the space requirements but should at least have a working solution until mendeleydesktop provide a build using qt 5.11.

i downloaded the generic version of mendeleydesktop in its official site,
extracted the downloaded files,
and directly executed file "mendeleydesktop" in extracted dir bin/.
Jitipari suggests using Mendeley when doing citations or making a bibliography in an article. Mendeley consists of two options. If you are going to use Mendeley both offline and online, please use the Desktop version (1.19.8), but if you can always connect to the internet, please use the Mendeley Reference Manager version.
