Applied Marketing, 2e combines solid academic theory and practitioner experience to help students master the core concepts, gain experience applying marketing principles, and understand how top marketers operate in today's business world. By bridging the gap between marketing principles taught in the classroom and those applied by business professionals, Dan Padgett and Andrew Loos, an academic and an agency owner, offer students an insider's perspective on marketing principles.
In addition, this course promotes student-centered learning with an entire chapter dedicated to marketing metrics (Chapter 13) and integrates a continuing case study on a socially conscious company, This Saves Lives, to help students apply their knowledge and develop their critical thinking skills.
New Mini Cases added for each chapter, for a total of 15 mini cases throughout the text and an additional 15 cases online. These cases provide examples of what a campaign looks like in a real marketing agency. Now they are accompanied by detailed grading rubrics so you can more easily assign these to your students. Examples of cases include Warby Parker, Disney+, Google Analytics, Tesla, Zoom, and more!
Content Changes: All new content and examples extensively updated throughout, with an emphasis on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on marketing practices as well as increased social and digital industry emphasis, featuring TikTok, Steam, Zoom, BuzzyBooth, and more.
Chapter 5 has an added discussion of the use of automated tracking research tools in both physical and online retail. In addition, the running example (Goat Island Brewing) has been expanded to highlight the application of research to their current situation.
Chapter 9 includes the pandemic-related impact on supply chains, expanded coverage of reverse supply chains, and a new discussion of the potentially negative environmental impact of efficient supply chains (plastic water bottles in the ocean).
Chapter 10 has an expanded discussion of the different views of pricing between economics and marketing and specific pricing methods. In addition, the pricing calculations section was rearranged and is placed at the end of the chapter to improve flow.
Students will learn to develop their critical thinking skills by actively applying core concepts to real-world scenarios through exclusive interviews with top marketing and brand leaders, company field trips, a mini case and a running case per chapter, and concept-based mini simulations. Experiential learning and a focus on practical skills help students relate to the course and see how they can apply the concepts to their future careers in business.
'Kubler and Yildirim manage to mix tried-and-true marketing models with recent advances in machine learning to offer a coherent, practical, and down-to-earth toolbox for data-driven marketers. A must-have for modern marketing managers.'
'This book brings a much-needed practical perspective to scientifically sophisticated marketing analytics. The authors Gokhan and Raoul truly represent the best of both worlds, being both accomplished marketing academics and practical data scientists. They start each chapter with a case study ranging from US banks to EU skincare, and UK airlines to Turkish kitchens and Finnish game developers. I love the natural flow of the book chapters, following the market orientation structure of segmentation, targeting, positioning and marketing mix modeling. At the same time, the authors demonstrate the value of adding the latest tools in attribution, online chatter and image mining. They explain every step both in the marketing strategy process and in the software installation and implementation. As to the latter, the R exercises give you hands-on experience in the latest in marketing analytics, which helps you optimize your decisions and shine in the marketplace.'

This comprehensive guide takes you through the entire A to Z process of marketing analytics, covering everything from fundamental data sets and visualization techniques to advanced statistical modeling and its business implications. The inclusion of insightful case studies further enhances the practicality of the book, offering valuable applications of marketing analytics. By delving into this book, marketing researchers can elevate their skills and expertise, making it an indispensable resource for anyone serious about pursuing analytics in the field of marketing. Overall, this book makes a significant contribution to the field and is highly recommended!
This is indeed a very useful and practically oriented textbook that I have been waiting for to appear for some time. It's definitely in the top 2 of alternatives I'm considering using as required reading in the classroom. The only thing holding me back from a decision right now is the lack (still) of online resources for teaching and learning support (especially the lack of datasets). The provided link to them is dead. I hope they appear soon.
A review of scholarly works and leading textbooks published for health care marketing courses shows that they do not adequately define the disciple. This paper promotes the use of the two-word form of health care and defines health care marketing as the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, & exchanging any good, service, or idea; performed to restore, maintain, or enhance the well-being of an individual or population. This paper fills a gap in the literature by providing linguistic and practical justification for using the two-word form of health care and connects the modern wellness paradigm of health to the definition of health care marketing.
This 3rd edition of Marketing Research: An Applied Approach forms a comprehensive, authoritative and thoroughly European introduction to applied marketing research and covers both quantitative and qualitative techniques in depth.
