Questions asking for a practical ruling (p'sak halacha) are off-topic. For practical advice consult your rabbi. Try to broaden the question so it applies to a wider audience, such as by asking what sources are applicable to the question. (More information.)

I technically was not born Jewish as my mother didn't convert until I was about ten. At that time I also underwent a ritual conversion. However, I've always assumed my Hebrew name should end in Ben Michael (my father's Hebrew name), and it says on my bris certificate Reuven Ben Michael. Also, this is the name I have used since Bar Mitzvah when being called up.

This question it is similar to the case of a person who is adopted by a Jewish family and can call himself after the name of his adoptive father. When an adopted child is called to the torah, how are they named? has my answer to that question It might not be an exact duplicate because of the specific case given. In that answer, I state that I have known people who are known by the name of the adoptive father.

Given the general case, we can see from the other answers to this topic, that the Jewish father and the nonJewish son have no halachic connection whatsoever. The answer as far as aperson who converts to Judaism and is adopted by a Jew is the same no matter who the adoptive father may be. In any case, as explained in the other answers, a person can take the name of his adoptive father.

The only difference that would occur, is that if the adoptive father is a Levi (as an example from an actual case) then he is not called with the term "Levi" in the name because he is a yisrael.

In the case of the question, it would depend if the boy had converted and became part of the family of the biological father or not. In that case, it would be like an adoption. Otherwise it might be considered an embarrassment for the father to have his name used. If both parties consider it an honor, then it is acceptable.

An interesting point is found in masecta Yevamos 101B (Art Scroll 101B4 bottom of the page) in which Rav Shmuel Ben Yehudah explains that he is a ger. Thus we see that even as far back as the gemara a ger could use the name of someone else as the patronymic.

Converts with truncation a double precision floating-point value in the source operand (the second operand) to an unsigned doubleword integer (or unsigned quadword integer if operand size is 64 bits) in the destination operand (the first operand). The source operand can be an XMM register or a 64-bit memory location. The destination operand is a general-purpose register. When the source operand is an XMM register, the double precision floating-point value is contained in the low quadword of the register.

Let's face it. Only a special kind of masochist will really enjoy codecs and converting. Although some people may get a perverse pleasure out of getting deep into GOP structures, context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding and variance adaptive quantization, most of us just want to get on with making the screen go flashy flashy.

Go ahead and click that bad boy. The file will be added to the Convert list and Alley will switch to the Convert tab. Don't worry about all the settings here, we'll go into that later. Really all you need to is click in the same place, where there is now a Queue button.

In Alley, this is just as easy as converting a single file. You just add multiple files to the View list, select them all using CTRL-A (CMD-A on a Mac), hit that Convert button and then hit that Queue button.

Save your sequence in a separate folder, and make sure each image is named sequentially. Next, drag the folder in to Alley. Alley will see that the files are supposed to be a sequence and will display, cue and convert them as a single file.

This is where you define the size in pixels of your converted file. Usually, you'll want to stick to Same as Source. If you need a specific size, you can choose from a list of often used resolutions, or enter specific custom values.

You can also pick a specific name for the converted file. This is best used only when converting single files. Should any naming conflicts occur by having duplicate filenames, Alley will resolve them best it can by adding numbers to the converted files.

When you change any value, you'll notice the Preset dropdown changes to Custom. Open that Presets dropdown and hit Save... You can then choose a preset name, very similar to how presets work for effects and MIDI and OSC and all the things in Resolume.

Bonus Tip! Every setting is part of the preset, including the Output Folder! This means you can choose to always convert your files to a particular place on your computer, like your Desktop.

We've all been there. You just got handed a crappy thumb drive with 12 GB of Youtube rips and Beeple clips, two minutes before show. You're about to start the conversion process when the annoying tour manager comes running into front of house, shouting at you to get the DJ's ugly spinning logo loop up right now!

After telling him or her to chill because you're a professional, you can select just that file in the Convert list and hit the Queue button. That way, you know it'll be done first. When it's done, right-click to reveal it in your browser, get it up on the screen and then worry about the rest.

Also known as the mid-market rate, the spot rate or the real exchange rate, the interbank rate is the exchange rate used by banks and large institutions when trading large volumes of foreign currency with one another. It is not made for individuals and smaller businesses, as smaller money transfers tend to attract a higher mark-up, so that the exchange offering the service can make a profit.

When Rosaria Butterfield was invited to the home of a pastor and his wife, she figured she was their pet project. As an atheist and a lesbian, she expected to be barraged with a sermon over dinner. But she discovered something else instead. Find out how God used His people and His Word to lead Rosaria to a complete turnaround.

Attached is a STL of a rod that I would like to convert to a prismatic solid body. When I attempt to do the conversion using the Mesh workspace and prismatic conversion option in the July 2021 update, it fails with the error messages:

"The operation failed. Try adjusting the values or changing the input geometry"

What is the process for this groups thing? I want to create a primsatic body. Can you show a video of this specific process? I tried the parametric conversion straight away because that is what was shown in the update notes:

Fusion 360 Help Mesh modeling Convert a mesh body to a solid body Autodesk

But that doesn't work on my STL

I am simply importing the STL, generating face groups, and then trying to convert the mesh to a parametric or base model. I also tried reducing the number of polygons thinking that might be the issue but I still get the same error messages.

I was hoping to offset the surface a little to making it thicker and easier to 3d print but if I'm not able to switch to prismatic, I'll just have to use more support structure when printing. Should I still be able to create a base model though that I can build from? I'd like to add mounts for the legs to the underside of this shell if possible.

People that have experience in Sub-D modeling will likely recognize that this .stl was not created by the usual CAD to .stl conversion algorithms , but is basically a triangulated quad mesh initially created as aa Sub-D model.

In Blender you can take such a mesh and with "tris-to-quads" can clean a good bit of it up and then with some more manual work this can be turned back into the original quad mesh. That then can be re-imported into Fusion 360 can turned into a T-Spline and then a smooth NURBS model.

Thanks again, I'm going to download this model as reference but also work through this same workflow so that I can be comfortable with the process as well. I'm pretty new to mesh / sub d modeling so I really appreciate your help.

Hello, @TrippyLightning can you please make a small video on it. i am having the similar issues with converting the modified twist drill which is make in Helitronic Tool studio 3. i will be really grateful for that thanks.

I have a large .txt file that I would like to convert to .pdf. I have tried to print the file and choose Adobe PDF but the output is just a mess. I loose all the formatting and get blank pages every so often. Does anyone know if is possible to convert .txt to .pdf and keep the formatting. I would try a virtual printer application but I am not able to just install any application on my office computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
