Hi,
I just came back from the MeeGo
conference and would like to share my experiences.
It was a 3 day conference in mostly rainy and sunny Dubiln in the Aviva stadium. The first half of first day started with key notes from Intel and Nokia proponents of Open source. The rest of the sessions, BoF's and unconference sessions continued for the rest of the day and the rest of 2 days. There were stalls from some companies (Novomak, Limpus, Texas Instruments...) that had some nice demos using MeeGo platform. One that I particularly liked is the 3D UI from Digia and the new maps engine (the corresponding presentations should be available here:
http://conference2010.meego.com/program/schedule).
There is a lot of buzz in the community
and in the world about MeeGo. Everyone is pretty much excited about the platform and its power. I presented the Backup/restore BoF (along with Otso Virtanen) and also an unconference session about Buteo PIM sync.
On the second day, we had a chance to go to the Guinness museum (was actually a beer manufacturing plant earlier) after the sessions. On the 3'rd day, there was a football match in the Aviva stadium. Overall the sessions were quite lively and it was a good chance to meet f2f the persons in the community we have been interacting over emails.
Got much more to write, but I will do so sometime later in the blog
Cheers!
