meego netbook wifi woes

Is it just me or others are also struggling with WiFi Internet
connectivity on MeeGo netbook release 1.1 or 1.2?

It used to work fine on 1.0 release but on later releases (1.1 and
1.2), I'm not able to connect to Internet over WiFi. There is no
problem in WiFi-Router connectivity but somehow I'm not able to
connect to internet.

I have googled it and found that I'm not the only one having this
issue (thankfully) but no one has posted any solution for it.

I do suspect my clock(date+time) settings, which it takes GMT (instead
of GMT +5:30) on every bootup. I did try to set it correctly after
boot but still no luck there. My laptop has standard Intel 3945ABG
WiFi chip.

1.0 is pretty old (and is infact Moblin). I tried MeeGo 1.1 on netbook
and did not have any issues with wifi. I wonder how date+time settings
have effect on network.

Is the network module loaded properly and what does 'iwlist <wlan
iface> scan' give out?
