Dear Sirs,
I hope this email finds you well. http://mabisir.wordpress.com/about/ is online: a blog to inform/discuss on social, political and anthropological issues in the Middle East. Posts will be in English, Italian and Arabic. I will run the blog together with Estella Carpi, a Phd student at Sidney University, who is conducting an ethnographic comparative study on local responsiveness to humanitarian intervention in Lebanon. I’ve uploaded all my writings from 2010 to 2013. It will be a useful container, since I don’t write for one single magazine/newspaper. Writers, poets, journalists and scholars dealing with the Middle East (whether for professional purposes or not) are more than welcome to submit thoughts to be published/re-published on mabisir. Preference will be given to those with a background in Middle Eastern studies/readings, Arabic speakers and people who spent a long time in the region, that is to say: it is not a space for random journalists, who found themselves in the Middle East and decided to write a book about the 'Arab Spring' or 'revolutions and social networks'.
Best wishes
Andrea Glioti
