Those of us who are older or are just sitting far away from the screen sometimes have problems reading the text because it is so in ridiculously small. The ability to increase the size of the fonts for those panes (and the top bar, too) would be invaluable. Currently, I'm having to use Chrome's inspector panel to hack the size of the fonts but I have to do that each time I load up the page. Font size adjustment as a built in feature (especially if it saves my font sizes for me) is a serious need for some of us. Thanks.
The chat window itself now has good font size options (which don't affect emotes, so I still can't see these while streaming), but I still can't read the activity feed. It'd be nice if I could make the text here bigger as well.
Ive not found OBS chat is a way to do it better customise
it .. just make sure to log out of OBS website and back in with twitch not YT
you can place the panel on capture window
or use over lay
I love the new Stream Manager but I need a way to increase the size of the font only in the chat, its so small, actually im doing zoom to the window but its horrible to all the other things on the Manager.
What is twitch doing with the new font and look on the followed page? It looks horrible in my opinion and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the previous design. They only sensical reason I see them doing this is if this is just the very first tiny step into changing a lot more with the design and formatting. What do you think?
Deleted my set value to it would return to default, pressed ok to save, and then reset my font size. I tried sizes 1, 10, 20, 30 as tests and nothing changed on each test, and I reloaded the page after I pressed ok to save each time although I know it usually updates after you press ok.
@night Thanks for the info. As of this reply, the font size is now working correctly again so I am assuming that the patch was pushed to Chrome. Also on a side note, (I will search it up myself as well but I thought I would ask anyways) do you have any good links or resources for these twitch updates & releases?
Ok so I turned on my fire stick when I got home, put twitch on & blam chats font size is like 4x larger than normal, it looks like font on an 80 year olds phone, extra heckin big. Anyone know a way to shink the font size?
The problem I'm running into is font colour. I'm using a custom background (hence the use of transparancy), which has dark colours. At this time, my chat font stays black, which is barely visible. I'd like to change it to white, but the snippet I'm using does not work for this. Not sure if this information is needed, but the snippet is directly copied in the CSS box on OBS. Does anyone know how to change the font colour of chat messages to white? If any additional information is needed, please ask!
Originally designed by Displaay, our new font, Roobert, is a mono-linear geometric sans-serif font family. It blends the squareness of Eurostyle and the curvature of Avant Garde in a modern way. We worked with Displaay to tweak some of the characteristics of the typeface to work better in some unique use cases in our products.
For the logo of Twitch, a techno font was used. It was released first by Ben Balvanz through the Fontalicious Font Family. It is most known as Dimitri Font. When this font was created, the main goal was to create a font that is original and functional at the same time. This font was planned to be used in various projects such as print or some other screen projects.
Regular has seven weights ranging from light to black. They all have matching italics. It has been specifically designed to work in both screen and print. For instance, in both large and small print, this font is easy to read and is quite distinctive.
This is the most versatile sans-serif font. It is intended to have a balanced and rational quality. Solidly neo-grotesque, it performs beautifully at display sizes but also maintains an exceptional degree of sensitivity for text sizes.
Reader is a sans-serif lettering made by London-based foundry Colophon. The design was enthused by an unfamiliar font set up in a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds letter dating from 1972. Reader is accessible in four weights with identical italics.
This is another sans-serif typeface. It was designed by both Edd Harrington and Anthony Sheret. They come from Colophon Foundry. Originally, this font was designed in 2012. It was first a custom typeface for Hotshoe, a photography magazine. But then, in 2015, it was expanded and used as mostly a commercial font.
This is once again a serif typeface. Designed by Martin Vacha, it was later published via the Display Type Foundry. This happened in 2017. The inspirations for this font were the fonts Times New Roman and Plantin. This is a family of fonts that has six weights.
This is a font that was inspired by Scandinavian Architecture and Norse mythology. It was created by Matthieu Salvaggio and then published in 2017 through Blaze Type. This font family has a wide range of styles and weights.
This is a serif typeface that was created by AlfaType. The design consists of triangular serifs, a large x-height, and a low stroke contrast. This font comes with four weights. They all have complementary italics and a sans-serif version of it.
Oh, there are many! Some popular examples include Netflix with their custom font Netflix Sans, Apple using San Francisco, and Google with their typeface Roboto. Custom fonts help brands create a unique visual identity that sets them apart from the competition.
Try to refrain from light text against light backgrounds and dark text against dark backgrounds as much as possible. This also applied to illustrated and textured backgrounds. You will want to ensure your text is readable for everyone. It's also important to consider font size and boldness. There are cases where a larger font/boldness will allow for a lower contrast to be readable. This is a case-by-case basis though, not always guaranteed.
Adding text to your Twitch emote can help convey your message or brand. To fill a text box with color on Canva, follow this guide. Keep in mind that text on Twitch emotes is usually small, so choose a font that is easy to read at a small size.

Popular streaming service Twitch has been in operation for nearly 10 years, and it finally received an updated look. It's slick, clean, and even comes with a new font for better readability and an overall design overhaul. It's been a long time coming, but the new Twitch layout is here, and it's better than the site has ever looked before.
The site doesn't look totally different, as you'll see when you go to the main page, but it has been given a nicely fine-tuned upgrade. The goal, according to Twitch, was to "elevate every single person on Twitch." To achieve this, first and foremost the team utilized a new font called "Roobert," inspired by the Moog synthesizer.
The classic Twitch logo also got a makeover to go with the overall redesign, though to look at it, you might not realize much has changed. The font is a bit different though. The logo is now one of the only places you'll see much of Twitch's iconic purple. The purple in the logo is a bit brighter now though, and showcased far better in the new logo than ever before, nearly neon this time around. It looks great, and is a good complement to the site layout.
