Hello - first time user. My practice uses medical manager but not
sage or emdeon. Does anyone know of a company (not sage) that can use
the medical manager datafile to print and mail patient statements?

Thank you

Hello - first time user.  My practice uses medical manager but not Sage or Emdeon.  Does anyone know of a company (not sage) that can use the medical manager datafile to print and mail patient statements?

Hi,

Been supporting MedMgr since version 4A8 and have done many statements for over 250 installations over the years.  I am also aware that there are continuing support problems with Sage- *see last paragraph for one of the reasons.

I think you would be better off doing your own statement generation because the system has to read about 10 related files, and the indices for each, (maybe more, I would have to count them to be sure) to generate a bill or statement.  Medical Manager typically uses about 100-150 files and indices and it just isn't practical to transfer copies of them all for billing use.  If you have a printer and some idea of what type of statement you want I can design one for you.

As an alternative, if you have Internet access it's possible to design a statement and then let us print them and mail them from here.  You must already be printing bills or statements.  If not, you must be a bit behind on billing and revenue.  Do you do Medicare or Medicaid billing?  Do you do any electronic billing?  What version of MedMgr are you running?

There is another opportunity that might work for you.  I can design a print-to-file statement version that would be easy to email and then print statements here from that, with added data, such as practice name and address, aging information, etc.

In any case, an outside billing support service will require an executed HIPAA agreement before having access to your files.

*You do know, of course, that Sage has their Medical Practice products up for sale.  I know some of the companies that are looking at it but whatever happens, it will be another painful period for users.  By the way, I think that the Classic Medical Manager is superior to Intergy, but maybe that's because I don't do anything with Intergy.

Gateway EDI out of St. Louis Missouri.   It has been many years since I worked on Med Manager, but the billing service I worked for used Gateway.
They also can handle electronic claims filing.

Sincerely,
Susan Parker
