Meditech has a conversion utility from Magic to C/S but no conversion back from C/S to Magic.
The Magic to C/S used to be available on a per-report basis, but now is part of the update process and they run a mass conversion of all active reports 1x instead of putting an option on the Update menu where sites can pull individual reports.
When you do lots of the programming in macros, you can cut and paste from E/E Macro Screen at a C/S site and paste into the macro at a Magic site and then hunt down all the places where you need to add “DICT” to the end of a DPM (etc).
This can save a lot of time if you have a big export record programming in a C/S macro as the differences in the data definitions across the two platforms are slight. If you miss an edit to a field name, the translator will give you a “Can’t Find” error, so you can catch and fix it.
If you put 10,000 fields in the C/S picture, you will just need to build the Magic report from scratch.
