We have 2 NUR orders – Restraint for Violent/Self Destructive Behavior and a Protective Restraint. Each is orderable by our providers. Below are the POM screens. Providers can re-new/repeat them each day, allowing them to just change the date/time or update the queries.
Restraint for Violent/Self Destructive Behavior:

Protective Restraint:

We also have the screens come over to the patient’s Plan of Care so that the Order Detail can be viewed there.
Hope that helps J
Lauren,
Do you have these set up as Renewable orders?
We have a similar set up: separate orders for Violent and Non-violent, with prompts specific to providers or nurses within the CDS. If you want screen shots, I can send them.

How do you have your restraint order set up?
Is it an order set? If so would you mind sharing the orders in that order set?
Our restraint orders have to be reordered every 24 hrs, do you have the nurse order this and go to your MD que to sign? Or do you make your MD place the order every 24 hrs? Thanks
