I am building CDS’s for NURSING. I am trying to figure out what the "bullets" in MIS Query Dictionary are used for. The online documentation is not helpful. It says to look in the MIS Bullet Dictionary which it says is a “meditech internal dictionary”. I also found the same bullet field in the group response dictionary. I am hoping it will allow me to put definitions under elements in the group response dictionary. Has anyone used “bullets” and for what?

We are Magic 5.5 and attended physician documentation training in April. I believe the bullets only work for physician documentation, at least for now.

I was told when I tried this for RXM Orders (over a year ago) that these would be used for the Physician documentation, and that this was the only application programmed to use these bullets.

I was told that it had something to do regarding an upcoming LSS/MPM enhancement.

Don't you just love the way Meditech communicates information about the
things they just suddenly throw in! Thanks for the info. This had been
driving me nuts as well but I just hadn't had time to pursue it yet.

Thanks,

We are Live with Physician Documentation and I questioned the bullets, because there is a bullet dictionary with the PDoc dictionaries.

Our bullet dictionary was empty. Meditech advised you only get them if you are using the 1997 coding guidelines and we since we use 1995, we still can’t use them.

I could not help but chime in....
At least while Microsoft plans for software obsolence in there products,
Meditech is preparing for future product enhancements.
