[MEDITECH-L] Remote HIM users, ABS and 3M

We have several HIM associates that work from home (coding) using the ABS module and 3M.   Since our upgrade to 5.6 in May the "path" in the Enter/Edit 3M parameter screen has changed. We now have only one path to enter and ours is pointing to the network where the software is located.

What we are experiencing is problems with remote users getting hung up when attempting to use the interface.  Local users seem to be okay.   I was wondering how many other facilities have remote coders/users in the HIM dept and if they've had similar experiences.   The remote users are using a variety of methods to "remote into" the system, from Caymas to VPN, they all experience this problem.

Our technicians asked  Meditech if we could use UNC to depict where the software is located and Meditech indicated they are not able to handle that method at this time.   They are looking into it for us.

I'm open for any suggestions from our facilities that have remote users.

Hi,

 

I am not the PC person, but maybe this will help. 

 

I needed to access a few applications from my desktop from home and using Citrix alone did not work. 

 

 I connect to the hospital  using Citrix.  Then instead of clicking the Citrix Meditech Icon,  I connect to my desk PC using Terminal Sessions.    It is like connecting to my desk top remotely, but I have to use  the secure citric connecting first.  

Our network guys only give this access to a  handful of users.
