For Hospitals using GE's QS product in OB:

For Mom's Record:
Where do you document Mom's L/D (presumably QS)?
Where do you document Mom's Admission Assessment (QS vs Meditech)?
Where do you document Mom's Post-Partum record (QS vs Meditech)?
Where do you document Medication History (QS vs Meditech)?
Where do you document Medication Administration (eMAR/BMV) (QS vs
Meditech)?

For Baby's Record:
Where do you document Newborn care (QS vs Meditech)?
Where do you document NICU care (QS vs Meditech)?
Where do you document Medication History (QS vs Meditech)?
Where do you document Medication Administration (eMAR/BMV) (QS vs
Meditech)?

For future discussion:

Do you have a discreet data interface from GE QS into Meditech for Mom
and/or Baby?
What about from Meditech to QS?
How do you transfer Allergies and past medication history back and forth?
How do you address core measure/patient safety assessments such as Vaccine
eligibility, Fall Risk, VTE assessment, CHF (yes, mom's can have it too),
etc.
If this information is not interfaced back to Meditech, how will you
report for Meaningful Use?

I will post a summary to the two list serves in a week.

Thank you

Brian

For Hospitals using GE's QS product in OB:

For Mom's Record:
Where do you document Mom's L/D (presumably QS)? QS
Where do you document Mom's Admission Assessment (QS vs Meditech)? QS - a small part of it is in MT. - We would like to move more of this over to MT, but they have had QS longer than we have had NUR up and it is a hard sell to them because QS is so user friendly apparently.
Where do you document Mom's Post-Partum record (QS vs Meditech)? Once out of LD --> MT
Where do you document Medication History (QS vs Meditech)? MT
Where do you document Medication Administration (eMAR/BMV) (QS vs Meditech)? MT - EMAR/BMV. That being said I know they also document when meds were given in QS so they can watch trends in fetal monitoring.

For Baby's Record:
Where do you document Newborn care (QS vs Meditech)? MT
Where do you document NICU care (QS vs Meditech)? MT
Where do you document Medication History (QS vs Meditech)? MT
Where do you document Medication Administration (eMAR/BMV) (QS vs Meditech)? MT (EMAR/BMV)

For future discussion:

Do you have a discreet data interface from GE QS into Meditech for Mom and/or Baby? No (we wish!- has anybody been able to do this?)
What about from Meditech to QS? Just ADT
How do you transfer Allergies and past medication history back and forth? It's all in MT. If they enter this into QS...that is of their own choosing. We require it in MT however.
How do you address core measure/patient safety assessments such as Vaccine eligibility, Fall Risk, VTE assessment, CHF (yes, mom's can have it too), etc. Most of this (minus CHF) is done in MT on that brief Admission Assessment mentioned above.
If this information is not interfaced back to Meditech, how will you report for Meaningful Use? Good question. Is anyone out there interfacing the two?

I will post a summary to the two list serves in a week.

Thank you

Brian

For Hospitals using GE's QS product in OB:

For Mom's Record:
Where do you document Mom's L/D (presumably QS)? CPN
Where do you document Mom's Admission Assessment (QS vs Meditech)? CPN
Where do you document Mom's Post-Partum record (QS vs Meditech)? CPN
Where do you document Medication History (QS vs Meditech)? CPN

Where do you document Medication Administration (eMAR/BMV) (QS vs

Meditech)? Meditech (no PHA interface, no bar code scanning available yet for CPN)

For Baby's Record:
Where do you document Newborn care (QS vs Meditech)? CPN
Where do you document NICU care (QS vs Meditech)? N/A
Where do you document Medication History (QS vs Meditech)? CPN

Where do you document Medication Administration (eMAR/BMV) (QS vs

Meditech)? Meditech as above

For future discussion:

Do you have a discreet data interface from GE QS into Meditech for Mom

and/or Baby? Yes
What about from Meditech to QS? No, we only have ADT
How do you transfer Allergies and past medication history back and forth? Allergies are entered in Meditech with Centralized Allergies; staff usually also enter them in CPN. Med Hx transfers with the DDI.

How do you address core measure/patient safety assessments such as Vaccine
eligibility, Fall Risk, VTE assessment, CHF (yes, mom's can have it too),

etc. - DDI allows for an NPR report to be written in Meditech. We are a low risk center so we have never had a mom in CHF (Ew! - we are only 30 minutes to Indianapolis and would send them directly there...do not pass GO, do not collect $200)

If this information is not interfaced back to Meditech, how will you

report for Meaningful Use? N/A
