We have had similar problems, but only when the provider is trying to enter their PIN during e-prescribing through the discharge desktop. At this point we have not gotten a solution from Meditech.

Warning: This email was sent from outside of Columbia Memorial Health. Please use caution when clicking links or opening attachments!
Check to see if the workstation has a second managed terminal definition. If not defined these should be, logically by need. Example- Lab primary, ADM secondary
Don’t use the same application / device combinations in both places.
Check that any workstation updates loaded successfully across all machines.
Including outside vendors like Pyxis, they have a copy too
Hope this helps!

Subject: [MT-L] Meditech Session Freezing or Users Kicked to Goodbye
Hi Everyone. We are a MAGIC hospital, that recently updated from 5.66 pp12 to 5.67 pp17. We are running MAGIC OS 9.2.31; Workstations are 4.26a. Since we’ve gone LIVE about a month and a half ago, we’ve been experiencing users getting kicked out of Meditech, or their workstations are freezing for no apparent reason. We’ve had this happen on several modules – ADM, NUR, PHA, LAB, etc…, so it’s been difficult to narrow down. It also appears to happen in waves, where it would last about ½ an hour then not occur anymore. Sometimes it would happen a few times a day (no consistent time), sometimes it won’t happen for a week. This is causing patient locks and a lot of time is being spent clearing those locks, not to mention user frustration. Has anybody experienced this issue and if so, what was your resolution? Thanks.
