Hello all...

I have a question from our Programmer who is wondering about Downtime Reports:

What are people running for downtime reports (both planned and unplanned downtime) specifically for C/S 5.5 or 5.6? If you have an overall Site definition, it would be best, but if you break it down by module - that would work as well.

Thank you in advance!!

====================================

Please do NOT send messages that ask "Please post to the list" or "I'd like to see your answers" or "Send that info to me, too" These are useless messages that just waste the email server's resources. Instead, email the original requester and ask that they send you or post the results of their question.

We basically went through MT's recommendation from their website:

http://meditech.com/disasterplanning/cs_disaster_homepage.htm

Also, we went from Department to Department to find out what reports
they would like to see. See attachment.

Here's our solution for MR numbers for downtime:
We are C/S 5.6. With the ability to schedule reports, we run an NPR out
of MRI.PAT that contains only four elements:
Name
DOB
SSN
MR (Unit) #
That is scripted to two locations, four times a day: one is the hard
drive on a machine in the ER that can be used as a stand-alone, and from
there the txt file is opened with Access & sorted as the registrar
desires. That's very effective for our planned downtimes, which we do
quarterly. The second script runs to a thumb-drive made by IRONKEY, on
a machine that is in a secured area. It's military-grade encrypted, and
will self-destruct if the incorrect password is attempted more than 3
times. We haven't had to use that, other than in a test situation...
yet!

Hope the info helps,
