I need advise/help on changing a date format. I have a macro in my npr
report (which I download into Excel) to list the birthdate which
outputs, as ex: 19260711 and I need 07/11/1926. I'm unsure how to
modify my macro to obtain this format or how to change in Excel,
everything I've tried has not been successful.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.

In Excel, Format, Cell, Number, Custom, enter mm/dd/yyyy. Before you do
this click on date and see all the formats available to you. When
importing the date data you may have to tell it that this is a date and
that the format is yyyymmdd.
Go to Meditech web site, product and resource pages for npr, left hand
column. Look at the Z programs. Some are date specific. Z.date.out
for mm/dd/yy or Z.date.out.long for mm/dd/yyyy.
On the report picture change the field type to date will output it in
mm/dd/yy format. Change it to DATE10 to put output it in mm/dd/yyyy
format. The type is probably FREE now if it is giving you yyyymmdd.
Macro:
(@some.date.field%3$2)_"/"_(@my.date.field%5)_"/"_(@my.date.field$4)^MY.
OUTPUT.FIELD will also give give you mm/dd/yyyy
Good luck.
