as using the attribute

Amber,

No, they aren't the same. The following is my experience from MAGIC.
(If anyone sees any errors, please let me know.)

DFT=@p.ADM.PAT.ccdqr.response... pulls the last response from the
current account, into the response for the designated query.

If the query has a response manually entered for the current account
(@t.ADM.PAT.urn) then that response will be defaulted.

If the query has not had a new entry on this account, AND the query is
Demo Recall, then the response will be equal to the response from the
previous account (see description below for how the response from the
last account got to the current account.)

Demo Recall is useful for "recalling" responses from one account to the
next (i.e. Para/Gravida, Hx of CHF, birth weight, etc.)

There are two steps to the process:

1) When a query is being answered, the system checks to see if the
current account is the patient's last created account. If so, it checks
to see if the query is set to Demo recall = "Y". If so, then it stores
the response in MR/ABS (I don't remember which).

2) When a new account is created for a patient, Meditech copies the last
response for "Demo Recall" queries to the new (current) account.

So, if you register a patient for Surgery this coming Monday, and then
schedule a visit for MRI the following week, the MRI account is the last
account. If you document on the Surgery account, the responses do NOT
go to <demo recall>. If you document on the MRI account, they will be
available for the next account.

Scenarios:

If the Surgery (first) and MRI (second) accounts are both created, and
then the birth weight is documented on the Surgery account, that value
is NOT available to the MRI account (because the MRI account is
"primary").

If the Surgery (first) and MRI (second) accounts are both created, and
then the birth weight is documented on the MRI account, that value is
NOT available to the Surgery account (because the responses were
generated when the account was created).

If the birth weight is documented on the MRI (second) account, and then
a third account is created, the birth weight WILL be available to the
third account (but not the first).

If the Surgery account is created, the birth weight query is answered,
the second account is created, there are no new responses to birth
weight, and then a third account is created, THEN the birth weight from
the first account is available to the third account. (Why? Because
Meditech copied the birth weight from the first account to the second
account when the second account was created, and then from the second
account to the third account, when it was created.)
