Hi,
Is it possible to schedule an NPR report to run automatically on a daily
basis? Has anyone done this and what do I need to do to set this up?
Thank you,
Bob L.

MAGIC Use the MIS scheduler
C/S Use BAR Autocompile if it is a BAR report, otherwise script it.

Bob, you run the program as you always would, but when you get the print
on prompt, type in SCHED. This takes you to the spool scheduler, where
you fill in the appropriate information to run the report on a schedule.
If you have any questions when you get in there, I'd be glad to try &
answer them. Note that you'll need a spool group set up and a printer
associated with that spool group, because the scheduled report has to
run to a spool group.

Bob, one other note. If you have date ranges or dates that you run your
scheduled report by, you have to use a special "sliding scale" to get
that to work. When your report begins running, if it asks for a Date,
and you want it to always run for the prior day (for example), you'd use
T-1/S in the date field. If you want it to run always for the current
day, it's T/S. Have fun!

We write scripts and use Boston Workstation. One of my co-workers just said that MEDITECH 5.6 is going to have the ability to schedule reports.

We are Magic. As far as I know, we have had the ability to schedule reports as long as I have been here. We were 4.71 when I started.

Joanne...

Actually, the ability to schedule reports has been part of Magic since a long time ago... at least since 4.4. Has anyone told you otherwise?

If you can't wait for 5.6 then buy MacroExpress (very cheap). You can
create a simple macro that will login, go to the menu you want, run it
and exit again. I used it to run reports in C/S.
