I would like to know how can I schedule an NPR report to be faxed
without having user enter FAX at Print On prompt or any manual process?
If this report was written off of LAB.L.SPEC then I could schedule it
via Telecom Site routine, but this report is written off of ADM.PAT. Is
there a way?

Thanks

Hi Fariborz ,
FTP from Meditech is fairly simple (when you know how.)
Go to the FTP Menu from the MIS Spooling Menu
Select E/E FTP Remote Hosts
Enter in your FTPhostName(MNEMONIC) & login details
Go to the Spool Dictionary Menu from the MIS Spooling Menu.
Select E/E Spool Group
Enter Group Type FTP
FTP Mnemonic : FTPhostName
FTP Data Type: IMAGE
Run your report, at the print on prompt enter SCHED. (SCHED controlled in the MIS user dictionary)
At the bottom of the schedule screen you will see a prompt for Spool Group. Enter your FTP SPOOL GROUP mnemonic here.

Done. If you have any questions, call me (519) 272-8210 ext 2268

Gord

You would schedule it just like a normal spool to print job. Print on SCHED then you need to make sure the spool group you use is set up as "GROUP TYPE" FAX. PRINTER TYPE= FAXCOMDIR (assuming you use Forward Advantage).
Once you are in the scheduler, when you put in the faxing spool group, the dialing parameters will launch. It's been awhile since I set it up so I'm not 100% sure about this next statement but I seem to recall that if you are faxing using the provider dictionary, it works fine. But if you do set it up on the fly your settings will be lost when the scheduler tries to send it. I think you need to create the entry in the recipient dictionary. Oh, and to look up a provider type /P to lookup providers in the "recipient" field otherwise it treats it as an ad-hoc.
