Hi All,

We are looking into claims scrubber that fully integrated with Meditech . In other words any corrections made in scrubber would flow back to Meditech i.e modifiers added, charges removed etc. Is any one using that partner’s with Meditech?

I haven't found any that do.  The ones that do "integrate" (such as MedAssets, Claimtrust/Craneware that I am aware of) only  send back comment transactions to MEDITECH.  While it's better than nothing, unless you devote resources to double-entering changes in both the scrubber system and MEDITECH, I don't know of any way that the actual changes get reflected/implemented in the MEDITECH database.  This is something that we've all been looking for for years, but I still haven't seen it.
I, too, would be interested in any company that has successfully and truly integrated with MEDITECH.

I’ve never seen this functionality, either.

When edits are made in the scrubber, the claim that goes to the payer doesn’t match what’s in Meditech.  Insuring that claims are built correctly, using proration and claim checks to hold accounts/claims for known issues and minimizing the use of bridges or edits in the clearinghouse provides a clean, accurate, compliant host system – Meditech- which is the source of truth.

Speaking the Gospel Julia!  Too many, far too many hospital business offices do not properly build or maintain the Meditech bill, claim, and reimbursement dictionaries.  The Operations Summary is reflective of this – non-contractual adjustments all over the place.

I couldn’t agree more, unfortunately hospital business offices do not dedicate the resources to maintain they system as it should  be  and adding another “solution” just adds another layer .

I couldn't agree more with Julia when it comes to custom "edits" or "bridges" in the clearinghouse.  I have customers who constantly want to create a "bridge" in the clearinghouse to automatically add a "modifier", or change a CPT code from standard CPT to HCPCS Level II, etc., on the claim in the clearinghouse system; because it's easier/more expedient than correcting a user or system problem at the source.  And as you would expect, this creates havoc when attempting to generate a correlating secondary claims, especially when COB is involved; as well as being a nightmarish headache to maintain and support.  It's bad enough that sometimes you have to have custom logic done in your host MEDITECH system.  But to also have custom logic in the clearinghouse is even worse.
