Hi Raychal.

We are also at 6.05 pp13. Here are screen shots of what our NIH stroke scale looks like and the rule we have to calculate:

Within the group response dictionary we attached values for each group response element. The calculation rule is attached to the NIH Stroke Score query (Result type query) and looks like this:

Hope this helps =)

Subject: [MT-L] NIH stroke scale

Good afternoon all,

We are a 6.05 pp13 site that will be going live with EDM II on May 15th. I am trying to build our NIH Stroke scale with each element within a group response given a value. I plan to then write a rule to have the score auto-calculate for us. I am struggling with the limited space given for a group response element. I need specific verbiage but cannot get it all to fit. How are you building your scale? I would appreciate any advice.

TIA

Raychal

We are a 6.05 pp11 site. We used multiple choice message rules to create the stroke scale assessment.  See attached document for screen shots. The rules can get a bit long but it seems to be faster for the nurses to get through and the text ISN’T limited to 25 characters like they are in a group response. We have done this on several of our assessments and they seem to work well.

NOTE: As you will notice, our assessment is a modified NIH version.
