[MT-L] Merge Account Numbers

Christine, I am unaware of any Meditech routine that can merge account numbers…although this would be most helpful. We encounter this situation periodically, and it is quite messy to clean up. I’ve been working on a procedure to be used in these situations, but it remains incomplete due to other priorities. Some applications have routines to handle this situation, others require more complicated workarounds. I can send you the procedure when finished…FYI, we are C/S 5.67, and use Scanning & Archiving…archived documents for some applications can be printed from one account and scanned to another…awkward, but it gets the job done. Others may have found a better way.

We are 6.08 and even in 6.07 we were able to merge Account numbers via the Cancel function in Registration. It has been awhile since I have done this so I cannot remember what all moves.
There. I am pretty sure that documentation moved and reports moved I cannot remember about orders I think they move—check out KB39322 it even has a few more KB at bottom to look at.
KB 51163 and 39322 talks about this I know there were some more but I cannot locate them at moment.

We are a MAGIC 5.67 site and I’m not aware of any functionality that will do what you’re looking for. We have the same challenges of moving documentation and we do it all manually. Just yesterday we decided to initiate a project to refine our processes and workflow when moving documentation because there are so many areas/people involved to make sure everything gets moved properly.

We are 5.67 site, does anyone know if it possible to merge account numbers?
I know that you can merge medical record numbers. But I need to know if we can merge account numbers. We have a case where the patient was registered twice and documentation is on both account numbers. Thank you in advance.
