What modules/reports are you looking for? I have quite a few that I
could send you from Magic Surgery that might help you with the reports.

I write reports for our PICIS products. We use Crystal Reports versions
8, 9 and XI.

I have taken intermediate and advance Crystal classes through Vision
Harvest (www.visionharvest.com). The trainer's name is Mark and he is
very knowledgeable. All the Crystal classes were remote web-based,
therefore quite convenient.

I have been to PICIS for their intermediate class. I thought it was a
good class because it dealt with issues specific to the PICIS products.
Particularly user defined fields and tables.

If you are reporting against Magic data, how are you using Crystal
to do that? Do you have MSM's SQL Server data repostory in addition
to your Picis applications?

By the way, which Picis applications are you running and reporting on?

Sorry, I meant my question to go to Katherine as she is the one
using Crystal. However, given your environment, I don't think
a Crystal Reports solution is going to work for you. I suspect
Katherine's environment is very different.

We have not used any sources outside of Picis for training. We
depend very heavily on the data repository for any kind of
complex reporting. Most of our reporting demand comes from our
OR.

We use Microsoft SQL Enterprise Manager to access PICIS and the Meditech
Data Repository. I create views for a lot of my PICIS reports due to
the fact that we have a large number of user defined fields. Enterprise
Manager gives me flexibility.

I also can combine PICIS and Meditech into the same report using
Crystal. I normally do not use Crystal for reports that are exclusively
Meditech data with the expectation of "one time run" reports. I find
that Crystal is faster and easier to use then NPR. However, the Meditech
users are not well versed in using Crystal from an end-user perceptive
and most do not have access to any tools for generating report results.

We are currently using PICIS OR Manager and MedQM.

Sorry, I meant my question to go to Katherine as she is the one
using Crystal. However, given your environment, I don't think
a Crystal Reports solution is going to work for you. I suspect
Katherine's environment is very different.

We have not used any sources outside of Picis for training. We
depend very heavily on the data repository for any kind of
complex reporting. Most of our reporting demand comes from our
OR.
