Good morning;

I have a  CDS with a query that defaults the answer based on the answer to a previous query. I need the answer to default and not be able to be changed.

My current attribute is DFT=IF{[ANS,”EDMCDIF1”]:0=”Y” “Y”;”N”}  This works but the staff are able to change the answer and this is causing some issues.

I have tried using IFE statements but they all seem to fail.

Can anyone give me an idea of how to fix this issue?

Thanks

Bev

I have this attribute. We capture the initial VS in the ER on one of two CDS. The first time thru it defaults the present date. Any other time thru it defaults the original date.

IFE=IF{@p.ADM.PAT.ccdqr.response["EDM.VS001"]^/D P(R,S,/D^/[ANS%0,"EDM.VS001"]
IFE=|0)^#,"";P(R,S,%Z.date.out(@.today^/[ANS%0,"EDM.VS001"]|0))^#,""}

You can probably adopt the same to do what you want.

Hi Beverly,

Something along these lines this should work:

DFT=IF{"Y"=[ANS,"EDMCDIF1"]|0;"N"}
FCL1=IF{@.response'=IF{"Y"=[ANS,"EDMCDIF1"]|0;"N"}
FCL1A=@W.err("Response must remain "_IF{"Y"=[ANS,"EDMCDIF1"]|0;"N"}_.)

Rules for PCS and OM in the 6.x M-AT Environment

Creating Rules for PCS interventions allows us to add logic to enhance functionality with calculations, display messages, and determining which queries should be required or skipped.

This introductory session will cover the basic types of PCS rules:

·         Message

·         Suppression

·         Calculate

·         Require

·         Skip

·         Jump

We will also cover OM Order Rules and Print Rules. Navigating through the Rule Dictionary, we’ll learn how to build rules and implement the logic.  Utilizing practical examples that can be useful in your system, we will build several rules to demonstrate each rule type.

Instructor:  Karen Roemer, Iatric Systems

To Boldly Go Where No Rule Has Gone Before

Incorporating regulatory agency requirements into clinical software can be a significant challenge.  Rules can be an effective tool to help streamline documentation and order entry.  This workshop focuses on building and attachment protocols for rules in PCS, OM and PCS Discharge forms.

Attendees will learn how to build different types of rules in PCS, such as requiring queries based on other query responses,  preventing documentation from being saved unless other documentation has been saved previously, limiting recall of documentation to only the  users own documentation, limiting recall to a specified time frame and  calculating simple and complex values.

Attendees will also learn to build OM rules such as calculation of values in Customer Defined Screens in OM, defaulting in values based on patients OM Location, making fields editable or required based on OM location and preventing an order from being placed more than once.  We will also review building and attaching rules in the PCS discharge forms.
