Hello,

Just wondering what people are using for pre-printed downtime labels for
lab specimens. I thought I heard that there's 3rd party software with
more capabilities for accessioning and tracking of specimens when an LIS
is down. Was hoping to tweak our downtime process. Any thoughts would
be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Julie,

Thank you very much for your presentation. I'm guessing you are a Magic site from your presentation. We are C/S but it looks like we have similar dictionaries. I will try setting this up in TEST.

Thanks for your help!

Chris

Hi Chris,
We print pre-printed downtime labels out of Meditech. They each have a barcode number which the instruments will read and then when Meditech comes back up this identifier can be used for matching up through the interface. I included a power point presentation I did at MUSE one year for how to set it up.

I want to know how to pre-print downtime labels for the instruments so if this works for you Chris, I would appreciate you sharing the info. We currently buy bar code labels from a third party to use for down time.

Hi Charles,
I had CC'd Meditech-L on the e-mail with the attachment but I guess it didn't come through. I will send it to you in a separate e-mail. If there is anyone else out there who would like a copy of the power point let me know and I will send it to you.

We need to train a group of about 5-6 people on GL Report Writer. Are
there any agencies which
would do a web-ex or come on-site?
[Meditech C/S 5.6]
Thanks,

Kevin
