| By straight paths may Varuna lead us, and may Mitra, the wise, lead us, and puissant Aryaman, with Devas. | (1) |
| They are the granters of riches, undeceivable; with their might they protect their Laws evermore. | (2) |
May they grant us their
shelter,
Immortals to mortal men,
turning our enemies away.(3)
| To paths
leading to happiness may adorable Indra, Maruts, Pushan and Bhaga direct us. | (4) |
| And our
hymns with the milk libation. Pushan, Vishnu and Fast-runners ! make us possessors of bliss. | (5) |
| Sweet blows the breeze for him who lives by Law, rivers for him pour sweets. So may the plants be sweet to us ! | (6) |
| Pleasant be our nights, pleasant dawns, and pleasant the dust of the earth ! Pleasant for us be Father Heaven ! | (7) |
| May the lordly forest tree give us pleasure ! pleasant be the sun, and pleasant the rays of light ! | (8) |
| Gracious
be Mitra to us and gracious Varuna, Aryaman. Gracious be Indra, Brihaspati, and gracious Vishnu of wide stride. | (9) |
