Hi!

I'm having trouble finding documentation on the metrics provided by NHC and SNR. I see here that there should be Prometheus metrics, however, the node-healthcheck-controller-manager pod has --metrics-bind-address=127.0.0.1:8080 in its arguments. Can you generally describe how things are with metrics?

Regards,
Stanislav.

Hi Stanislav,

NHC does provide Prometheus metrics, as you found out, but the Prometheus instance in the cluster needs to be configured to scrape the metrics from the NHC pod.

It really depends on the cluster you are using, but we are working (litterarly these weeks) both on configuration an documentation side to make this step easier.

What is your cluster setup?

Its possible to add metrics to already installed prometheus project without installing all of these tools defined in prerequesties? I dont want to install openshift-monitoring or another resources used by openshift, I need just to define service monitor and let our already used Prometheus to scrap metrics.

so here it's important to add a token for authorization process, and that's it?

it might be so, however, I’m not an expert in what openshift-monitoring does and can't guide you through the setup
