Mumbai: The Bhoruka Charitable Trust, Rajasthan, India had arranged a ceremony to felicitate anti Hindu Indian painter M. F. Husain at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, on March 15. 18 eminent Indian artists flew to Dubai to felicitate Husain.
The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti had launched an intensive campaign along with website campaign against the awarding of award to Husain and given strong indications. The Marathi Dainik 'Sanatan Prabhat' gave good support to this campaign. The Bhoruka Charitable Trust, Rajasthan, canceled this life time achievement award to Husain on account of the protest and informed the Samiti through a fax sent by Mr. Amitava Banerjee, Executive Director of Bhoruka Charitable Trust.

Function to honour M.F. Husain cancelled

Dubai: A function to honour eminent painter M.F. Husain by 18 visiting artists from India has been abruptly cancelled, apparently on account of pressure from the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, a right wing organisation. (Why HJS is labeled as ‘Right wing’ ? Will those who label us like this will state in words what characteristics makes us a right wing ? What are their ideas regarding left and central with some examples ? -Editor)
Mr. Husain was to have been felicitated at a prominent hotel here at 6 p.m. local time (7.30 p.m. IST) on Saturday. However, a notice at the venue said the function had been cancelled. Neither the representatives of the Bhoruka Charitable Trust who had organised the event nor Mr. Husain himself were available for comment.
Meanwhile, the website of the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti posted a fax message which it received from Amitava Banerjee, Executive Director of the Bhoruka trust. The fax informed the Samiti that the programme of felicitating Mr. Husain had been scrapped. Intensive campaign The Samiti ran an intensive campaign seeking the cancellation of the function ever since a Dubai daily reported the hosting of the event.

Will Mr. Ashok Agarwal and Joshi of Bhoruka Charitable Trust dare to felicitate Danish catroonist, Indian-British novelist Salman Rushdie or writer Taslima Nasareen? When it comes to sentiments of Hindus, they will teach us freedom of expression! Those who support criminal Hussain should be strongly condemned so that they do not dare to do such acts in future. - Editor

Husain to be feted by Indian artists in Dubai

Dubai: In what is probably the first of its kind in the world, 18 eminent Indian artists will fly in to Dubai today to felicitate Indian art icon M. F. Husain. The three-day event, which includes a symposium on art, will commence on March 13. The symposium will begin today afternoon at Novotel, Dubai, and will culminate in the felicitation ceremony at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Dubai, on March 15.
It is an initiative of the Bhoruka Charitable Trust, Rajasthan, India. (Hindus need to strongly protest against this anti-Hindu and anti-national painter who is continuing to rub salt on the wounds of Hindus and Bharatiyas. - Editor) The mode of felicitation itself is a secret and will come as a surprise during the grand finale. The event has been organised by Ashok Agarwal, secretary of the trust, and Surendra Pal Joshi, director of this programme. (These birth-Hindus are real enemies of Hindu Dharma. - Editor)
Speaking exclusively to Khaleej Times, Joshi, an artist himself, said, "The Bhoruka Trust, involved in educational charity work in Rajasthan, also nurtures Indian art among children. The trust decided to give a lifetime achievement award to our most senior living artist, Husain. To get so many eminent artists together on a common Bplatform, that too in Dubai, itself is a great achievement. So we decided to organise a symposium. (Hindus, Beware of this trust! They think that Husain's pornographical anti Hindu paintings has educational values! - Editor)
"The discussion and ideas emerging from it will be compiled in the form of a nominally priced book, which will be a useful mirror to contemporary Indian art."
Asked whether honouring the controversy-ridden Husain would fuel further controversies, Joshi said, "We, the artist fraternity, have set out to felicitate the icon amongst us. Our intention is honourable. We hope everyone will understand the true spirit behind it." (Will these artists felicitate or atleast openly support Danish cartoonist for drawing Prophet Mohammed cartoons as a form of art? - Editor)
Husain, speaking exclusively to Khaleej Times said, "I'm immensely pleased to be able to enjoy the company of so many artists. We are very different in our approach and style of art, but there is a lot of fellow feeling among us." (Hindus need to teach a good lesson to such anti-Hindus so they can not think of rubbing salt on our wounds by such acts. - Editor)
The artist, who is deeply moved by the magnanimous gesture, said, "Since I can't go there, they are coming to honour me here. Only Indians can think of something so large-hearted. They are going to recreate India for me here!"
"I'm often asked what message I have for today's artists. But they forget I'm among them - still young," said the 92-year-old Husain with a chuckle.
