Hi,
you might have noticed - but I suppose you have not - that _WE_ recently grew by 9 members to 23 subscribers on this mailing list. The new bunch of guys met at CHI conference in Florence 2 months ago [1]. There was a History-SIG to take the historical perspective to HCI (human computer interaction) [2].

To me "medichi" is a perfect blend between the MEDICHI conference [3] (Methodci and Didactic Challenges of the History of Informatics) and the Medici family of Florence, who provide the link to the CHI conference this year.

The medichi google group [4] was created to stay connected and continue the discussions. So let's do exactly this. Maybe let's start again by a short introduction...

thank you for inviting the new members. Welcome, new members!

By the way: the preparation of the publication of the best papers of
MEDICHI 2007 in the IEEE Annals is approaching to its final phase. The
special issue is supposed to appear in July! It will also contain a
few words and pictures in memory of Joe Weizenbaum, whose presence at
MEDICHI remains unforgettable for ever.
