Changes to widget code not showing up.

I created a widget and it displayed beautifully, however when I made changes to the widget - the changes do not show up. 

the precompiled widget code does show the changes, but the page as displayed with the embeded widget does not

I made sure that the compiled folder is set to 777

any ideas?

You should just purge page cache for the page that has the widget.

The easiest way is to touch your LocalSettings.php - it (usually) forces all caches to be updated.
