Working LDAP looks like?

I am attempting to configure LDAP for the first time. I believe I have the necessary settings for Django. Nothing breaks, but nothing seems to work either. What is the expected behavior within Mediathread when LDAP is working? Is there any documentation that I'm not finding? Thanks for any assistance anyone can provide.
