Manmatha Shukla Chaitra - Calendar

Education Informal  has released a calendar with the theme 'Gods'.  In the first of fortnightly releases, the calendar includes Manmatha Chaitra Shukla paksha with a description of Chinese God Pangu.

Chinese God Pangu was worshipped by Xia Dynasty 2500 years back.  According to Chinese sources, a formless chaos existed in the beginning of the universe that coalesced into a cosmic egg containing two perfectly opposed principles Yin and Yang.  Pangu woke up from the egg and began created the world.  He separated Yin from Yang with a swing of his axe, creating Earth (Yin) and the sky (Yang).  Pangu stood for 20billion years between earth and sky and each day the distance between them grew by 3meters.  Pangu is aided in this task by the four most prominent beasts, namely the Turtle, the Qilin, the Phoenix, and the Dragon.
