Anat - The Goddess of war, El - The God of creation and Baal
Hadad - the god of Thunder ARE Three of many Gods worshipped by Pre-Jewish people OF
Iraq and Syria about 5000 years ago.
According to pre-Jewish sources, Baal Hadad (the god of
Thunder) is challenged by Yam (The God of Sea).
God Baal defeats Yam using two magical weapons (called Driver and
Chaser) created by Kothar-wa-Khasis (The God of Architecture). Afterwards, Baal persuades El (The God of
creation) and receives a palance from the Kothar-wa-Kahsis with the help of
Athirat (Mother Goddess ) and Anat (The Goddess of war). Baal, residing in the palace, challenges Mot
(the God of death). Mot enters the
palace through the window, swallows the Baal and sends him to the
underworld. Absence of Baal creates a
terrible drought and distress. The
Goddess Anat goes to the underworld, attacks Mot with a knife, grinds him up
into pieces, and scatters him far and wide.
Baal is released and returns. The
rain is given by the God Baal refreshing the earth
