Saturday's update to 1.9.9 went up without a problem. A long time in
the making, this update includes many improvements to the core
architecture of MediaSilo as well as the following changes:
Improved Encoding Speeds
Users uploading many files at once will see files encoding faster and
being available sooner. We now have a better process for scaling
additional encoding servers and have also updated our codecs to
include less common formats.
Working With Non-Video Files
MediaSilo now generates previews of PDF documents and image files such
as PNG, JPG, PSD, EPS, AI, BMP, and GIF. High resolution photos gets
web-optimized and can be pre-viewed. Note: Previously uploaded PDF and
image files will display as icons. If you have a large library of non-
video files, send an email to
sup...@mediasilo.com so we can
prioritize your account for preview generation.
Elgato Direct-Upload
Announced at NAB and launched last week, Elgato's Turbo H.264 hardware
encoder now supports direct-to-MediaSilo upload making it easy to go
from just about any file to H.264 to MediaSilo in just one click.
Branding Options Extended
Enterprise accounts can now upload login images and replace the
MediaSilo login image that displays when the application starts.
Returning to Workspace
Users on 800x600 resolution screens can now type Shift-W to return to
a workspace from the video playback screen.
