Face landmarks

I'm trying to use the facial landmarks that the mediapipe provides. The only problem I have is that my input is 3D and the mediapipe doesnt work in 3D as far as I know. I tried to map my 3D file to a 2D image but the mediapipe has very poor results on these rendered 2D images. Does anyone have experience with a 3D input for the facial landmarks or does anyone have tips on how to do it?
