Advocate Mohan Pimple is a great film buff also associated with industry in a modest way, he always had a feel that no film is possible without a film producer but still they are the most neglected lot when it comes to honor or recognistion, with some of his like minded friends Pimple formed Dada Saheb Phalke Marathi Sanskrutic Karya Trust. This year Indian Film Industry is celebrating 100 years of its journey, exactly 100 years back Dada saheb Phalke produced his film Raja Harishchandra, the first landmark of the Indian Cinema. So the Trust has some big plans to recognise people associated with various segment of film production, creating corpus to help the industry related people who are now in old age gave their best to industry now needs little helping hand.
Today, it was first formal get together of the Trust at Kohinoor Hall in Prabhadevi area. There was a impressive presence of producers, directors, actors, they all shown solidarity with the cause. Vijay Kondke, who happened to be nephew of Dada Kondke, narrated interesting reason for coming to movie. Dada kondke produced his first movie and no body was prepared to buy that movie. There was no choice, Dada decided to distribute it and at that time, Vijay was doing his CA first year, Dada convinced him to leave CA course and distribute this film. This was just beginning of his transformation. Later Vijay produced Maher Che Saari, which created history and brought big moolah for the family.Vijay feel that if he would have completed his CA course, he would be one of the thousand CA but being in the film industry and that too as producer he has become a very well known person. this is the power of films !
The trust has made gorgeous Deepali Syed as their Brand Ambassador. Talking from the sideline of the function, I asked her why she has restricted herself to only Marathi films despite the fact that he look can give sleepless night to any of the Hindi film heroine. She was candid and accepted that she tried in Hindi films also but there is very intense competition, you have to run around but the results may not be to the desired level so she confined to marathi films and she is happier with the kind of recognition she has there.
There were so many other voices in the gathering echoed the same feeling. To me it is just a good beginning.
