Hi Folks,

User community of MediaHouse is growing with each passing day and so is its usage. For example:  There are many

- android devices that MediaHouse runs on
- different Media Servers that it talks to.
- different Media Renderers that it plays on
- different formats and many video applications that it seamlessly integrates with.

This is your chance to not only brag about your digitally connected home but also share information with the community. I encourage everyone to share their setup and help spread the knowledge.

So let me start by mine:

MediaServers :
- QNAP NAS running Twonky Media Server 6.0.34
- Windows PC running Tversity and WMP12.

MediaRenderers:
- Sony SMPNX 20 (Network Media Player)
- Samsung Smart TV 7 Series
- Windows PC running (XBMC)

Android Devices running MediaHouse-Pro:
- HTC Desire Phone OS: 2.3.4
- Xoom Tablet OS: 4.0.4
- Nexus 7 Tablet OS: 4.2.1
(Running MXPlayer for local video playback)

Formats Used:
- (Video) .VOB, .MOV, .AVI, .MKV, .M2TS
- (Audio)  mp3, .m4a, wma

Hi all
I have just joined the group, ans am currently evaluating MediaHouse.

My setup:

Philips Network Music Player
Revo Axis network music player (can only pull with this)
Samsung series 8 LED TV
Pioneer SCLX71 AV Receiver (can only pull with this)

Controllers

Running MediaHouse & Twonky Mobile on these.
Will be evaluating Plex Mobile for Android on these in due course.

Main formats used
FLAV
MKV

I also have just purchased a WD 6TB My Book Live Duo, which runs Twonky Server, but that's not in the system at the moment as it's very slow, and I need to find out why.

MediaRenderers:

Android Devices running MediaHouse-Pro:
- Asus TF300 (2x)

Formats Used:

Mainly use MediaHouse for movies but may investigate switching from Google Play or native player to MediaHouse for audio (does MediaHouse allow local storage / caching of audio titles like Google Play?).

Just purchased a Cambridge audio bluetooth speaker linked to nexus 7 pad galaxy phone and laptop. Spent hours with bubbleupnp and others to no avail until I discovered media house. Wow. Works like a dream...fantastic.

Just started using MediaHouse, and directly switched to Pro, just because it all worked in a snap!

My setup:

Media repository: Synology CS407, with NFS enabled.

Server: Linux Mint with Rygel

Controllers: all Android phones and tablets in the house

Renderers
  • Medion Life Multi-Room Speakers
  • all Android phones and tablets in the house
  • Minix Neo G4
On my to-do list: use a Raspberry Pi as a server :)

This topic is mainly for adding your setups Tired man, although are you sure that your media server is serving all the folders that have movies? Because MH is merely a receiver of all the data coming from MediaServer.

I have been using Emby for some time, since it moving to pay .. im looking at all with similar services and abilities. Mediahouse will be included in my search options as it easily manages to match Emby for services and functionality.

If I buy , I want easy connectivity for my family to use as not all are as IT literate as myself. If Mediahouse keeps up the good work then it will match Emby as my second purchase choice for media services when looking at purchase options.

Keep up the good work.

Devices that i have

Samsung Galaxy J5
Netgem N7700 mediaserver (by the internetoperator Elisa)
Windows Media player DLNA server
Kodi 16, 17
Plex-tv mediaserver
K1 Plus mediaserver
Andriod mediaserver (Rockchip android mediaserver)

Mediahouse app cannot "see" the Netgem set top box device at all. But UMS (Universal Media server) has some support for it.
