Police claimed to have rescued a minor girl from GB Road who had been brought to Delhi for prostitution. On Thursday, the police received information that a minor girl has been brought to Kotha No 41, GB Road, Delhi, from Mumbai for prostitution. Police said that they immediately raided at the spot and rescued a 17-year-old girl Nidhi (name changed). Nidhi told them during questioning that she was tortured and then deserted by her husband after which she boarded a train from her home in Sholapur in Maharashtra and reached Mumbai. “In Mumbai, she met a person named Santosh and his wife who brought her to Delhi on the pretext of getting her a job. She was then sold to two women named Haseena and Zarina at Kotha No. 41 in Delhi for Rs 50,000 on Wednesday,” said a senior police officer. Nidhi also told the police that Santosh had raped her before selling her at Kotha. On the basis her statement, police have registered a case at PS Kamla Market. Haseena and Zarina have been arrested whereas accused Santosh and his wife are still at large.
