Generally I go for cheaper, but in this case Sharps is on site always and knows the venue well so that’s my 2 cents. (and virtual vote)

What’s the $ left for lunch sponsorship?

If we can hold on until Wednesday morning to tell the Shaw, I have a glimmer of hope for one of my leads to pay off. Just a glimmer, mind you.
Also, Patrick Johner of the ATA's public school teachers local says the local is willing to put $250 in. By my count, that gives us just over $450 that is unspent, after sound is paid for. Should we consider buying $450 worth of food, and warning people it won't be enough? Can we scrape a little more together to buy a little more?

Alrighty...
Let’s recap our budget to date.
Correct me if incorrect.
Costs:
a) venue – nets out through sponsorship from EEDC and GURU
b) Food - we have about 155 registered x $20 if we pay for lunch = $3,100 (if we closed reg today)
c) Audio - $787
Total costs ~ $3,890
Sponsorship
a) ShareEdmonton, TEKRI at Athabasca University, CTV, Grovenor School, TheEdmontonian each x $250 = $1,250
Deficit = $2,640

As of noon today we have 170 people registered. I was promoting MediaCamp at the YESS ‘Great Expectations’ breakfast this morning and notice a few of those people have registered. The problem is not getting people excited and willing to register the problem is getting them to pony up for some sponsorship…
