Korrie,

Thank you for your correspondence to the Nevada Department of Transportation.

We appreciate your interest in Nevada Department of Transportation outreach campaigns.

The Department does have a long-standing $100,000 yearly contract with the Nevada Broadcasters Association to produce and distribute public service announcements regarding traveler/traffic information and safety: (http://www.nevadadot.com/News/Public_Service_Announcements(2).aspx ).

NDOT also does periodically print driving safety brochures and/or outreach items such as informational brochures. Most of this production is done in-house.

Currently, the Department also has a more than $600,000 annual contract for print/TV campaigns for our statewide Zero Fatalities traffic safety campaign (www.zerofatalitiesnv.com). But, please keep in mind that this contract is funded through federal safety funds and is not a continually re-occurring budget item.

Occasionally, we also have road project-specific public outreach, but this does not often include radio or TV advertising.
