Dear Hendy,

thanks so much for the new MediaBox! I am amazed that I could have missed the release of this fab app! It works great so far with some minor bugs that I am sure you will sort out quickly. I am still a huge fan of CooJah 6 and am sure MediaBox will be much much better once the bugs are gone. Thank you so much for the effort so far! This is greatly appreciated. In the following days you can expect a generous donation as well!

So now to the questions:

1: Can you please tell me what version of RTMPDump you are using with the latest Blader and if you keep on updating Blader with the latest versions of RTMPDump as they surface?

2: Unfortunately every time I install MediaBox I get an error saying: "svchost.exe" or something similar had to be terminated. I then click OK and MediaBox continues to run fine. However when I restart the system no app that connects to the net works even though my internet connection is fine. I think that has to do with the unexpected termination of that process and possibly that MediaBox is a global sniffer. I am not sure. I run XP SP2 on the system but can test on another system with Win 7 Ultimate 64bit as well to see if the same error happens as well. I am no computer illiterate so happy to help you sort out this error. It is kinda scary that after the restart the access to the net does not work any more. I hope we can fix this together. If you like I can try and include screenshots in the next reply.

Apart from all this I hope this messages finds you in good health. Again congrats on the effort made and if you find time I would be very happy to hear back from you.

Regards,
Sam

OK, here is a screenshot of the svchost.exe crash. It has to do with NetworkSniffer.dll. Unfortunately I emptied the Temp folder and files too quickly but next time I will try and get the whole report copied. Unfortunately this system is in German but I can also provide screenshots from an English system. Any ways I don't think it matters that much since it is mostly the numbers you will be interested in.

Hope you can work something out. Thank you. If after this mistake I restart the system XP SP2, I cannot access any software that uses the network/internet connection, i.e. Firefox, Thunderbird, etc.. If you can fix this error a major bug would be out of the way.

Please also don't forget that I am very happy to help you with the English language files, so if you let me know how to do that I will do it.

Regards,
Sam

Also I have had a look at the log file and that is normal and finds no errors. If you like I can attach a copy of it to the next reply. Hope to hear back from you when you have time.

Sam

Hi, sam,
Thanks for your feedback. For your questions:
1. RTMP function in Blader is based on RTMPDump v2.4.
2. Yes, MediaBox uses a global network sniffer. So it may affect system network connections. MediaBox installs the sniffer on startup and uninstalls it on exit. So if you are not using MediaBox, you'd better exit it. When system restart without MediaBox exit, the sniffer will still take effect even MediaBox is running. The system processes, like svchost.exe, may load the sniffer because of they may be using network. And I have noticed that some system processes load the sniffer may cause errors. I will try to solve this problem.

here is my history using mediabox

installed it on an xp system ... the downloader worked fine but i could not figure out to get the recorder to work. i don't recall how i shut down but mediabox was still installed. rebooted and i was getting verizonsmartbridge and windows genuine advantage notification error referring to networksniffer.dll.
uninstalled mediabox and renamed networkersniffer.dll to abc.old...rebooted and all the errors went away. i opened any browser - ie, opera or chrome - and i would see packets going out but the incoming packet stream, just stopped and i would get "communication error" messages instead. ran all kinds of network repair routines including flushdns, registry repair, norton anti virus and but on each reboot i was connected to the internet and i had a healthy connection but i kept getting communication error. i had one last idea after reading numerous technical websites that i had damaged winsock. i found this to be the best winsock repir software out there - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html - downloaded it on another pc and installed and ran it - fixed my connection problems.

see if this helps
