Hello all,

I'm a research specialist in a brain imaging lab at the Medical University of South Carolina. We started working with QSM for a study and have been able to process QSM maps for multiple subjects. However, one of our subjects gives us an unusual map with prominent zipper-like artifacts.

Attached is an image that shows the affected processed map on the left, and a normal processed map on the right. The DICOMs for both subjects appeared normal, so it feels like there is something happening in the processing stage with the QSM matlab script, which was used for both subjects. Potential causes and/or possible solutions would be greatly appreciated.

The images were taken using a Siemens Magnetom Prisma Fit.

Thanks,

-Josh
