Is this close enough for you to work with?  Let me know; I'll see how much time I can get to bring it closer to your work, but I think you should just be able to replace the data set.

I was inspired by this question to make a better, newer example. So here you go:

This new graphic uses pre-aggregated data, as the raw data is 10MB. I
computed the aggregation using d3.layout.histogram and d3.nest.
