Subject: The future of search
To:

Google is always a step ahead of the competition.
Predictive search is much more than auto-complete in a search box.

I heard of Google Now app with it's prediction capability. I decided to try it.

Every tuesday, i have lunch with my son at my mother's.  Today, google Now gave me a card with direction to my mother's place. It's crazy but very useful. Simple data mining.

I heard a few stories about Google Now. Guy is at a meeting outside his home town, as he goes out of the building at lunch time, he gets a Google now card suggesting local sushi restaurants at a walking distance from where he is. Google knows it's lunch time, it knows where he is and it knows he likes sushi.  Incredibly useful but also a bit scary at the same time.

The difference between Google and it's competitor, like Apple's Siri? Google has like 15 data centers spread across the globe. I think Apple has only 2. With probably 10 times more processing power, it can do more. They have been planning the future for a decade.
