"I have only recently started to digitize and the new version 14 of Tajima DG/ML by Pulse is quicker and easier to use. It has given our designers a lot more scope with designs for amending and creating embroidery as they can easily control all the parameters with the new windows. Having version 14 has been an asset to the company."

"We are Velebny and FAM Ltd., located at Usti nadOrlici, Czech republic.
Our activity is concentrated on all kinds of embroidery- from classical hand-made embroidery, embroidery done using mechanical sewing machines and also embroidery done using automatic computerized embroidery machines. We also specialize in restoring very old embroidery and textiles.
After 15 years of analyzing our experiences with embroidery on computerized automatic embroidery machines and embroidery software we have reached our conclusion, that the best for our embroidery job is Tajima DG/ML by Pulse software. Thanks to depth and power of this software, we are able to increase our creativity and flexibility in the field of embroidery designing for our customers. For our designers it was a nice surprise to find out that philosophy of Pulse software is very close to Adobe Illustrator, like Bezier curve support and many more features and thus creating embroidery designs more easily.
We appreciate that Pulse cares for its customers, listens to feedback and actively take into consideration some of our suggestions. Pulse truly supports its users.
Concerning version 14, we would like to mention some new functions. Very nice is the cyclic objects selection, and in case of lettering, the ability to create a lock stitch inside the segment. Easier still is the letter editing and segment filtering, and of great use is the ability to import name badges from Excel. We were surprised by details like color code display with mouse over thread colour icon.Stitch edits and parameter settings are much easier thanks to new philosophy of tabbed windows and panels.
We use the fur stitch effect very often, thanks to this feature we can get very similar stitching like in case of using mechanical sewing machines to create embroidery.
In general, we can say, that our work with software under version 14, with its new interface is much better than before. And Tajima DG/ML by Pulse was already the best!"

"I love the ease of use of this new version (Version 14) and want to say that in Tajima DG/ML by Pulse the import of vectors feature has helped me a lot since it is very easy to import the vectors and convert to embroidery directly, with the advantage of stitch count reduction. It makes things very easy for my type of business to just receive the artwork from my customer in Corel and convert it in the software to embroidery. I gain time as I can create the designs quickly and set them up for the machines that I want to sew them on.
The changes in version 14 have been very helpful, especially all the user interface changes that make it very easy to use.I also like the virtual slice feature in combination with automatic overlap which I used to previously do manually (in order to use the artwork for laser applications) but these are now performed automatically, helping me to win precious time.
The ability to change the sequence of underlay types and the ability to change corner types are features which have helped me a lot .In general I am very pleased with the software and highly recommend it."

"If you ask me, my opinion on DG/ML Version 14 is: 'It is great, simply great!'
As I am always open for new things, I had to have this new version 14. Especially because this new version contains exactly the modifications that I was shown by Pulse (Alex) on the occasion of different exhibitions and that I, as user of latest computer technology, absolutely need.
Working with systems that are out of date means your work is going to be time consuming, and this does not make sense in highly modernised Europe.
I am used to working with dual monitors (two monitors at one pc) and with version 14 I can organise my workstation in a better way, have a good overview of all important things and reach my goal faster.
To be able to specify my own shortcuts means an incredible advantage regarding speed. Unfortunately nowadays "time is money" and using Maestro V14 took me a big step forward.
For me, Maestro means that I can convert complicated logos/graphics into embroidery data, as well as create the most simple logos in perfect quality. If you want to make money from creating embroidery data, Maestro is the best option.
Lots of my orders come from carnival clubs with logos of over 100000 stitches and V14 is absolutely prepared for that.
"I love it"
PULSE, keep it up..."

The vector capability is unrivaled and the advanced automated features aretrue time savers. These are merely a few of the reasons to work with Tajima DG/ML by Pulse. Spend just one day working with Tajima DG/ML by Pulse and you will understand why it is the best embroidery creation software available.
You may have observed the amazing logo and embroidery designs printed on different apparel and clothing accessories. But have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes? What are the processes of making these amazing embroidery designs and artwork? What softwares are used and how does it all work. Well, we will tell you all that you may need to know about the embroidery file types, formats, and softwares the digitizing companies use.
MIG Digitizing is a digitizing company where we cater to making all the embroidery designs and vector art. Having served for years, we know the ins and outs of the digitizing industry. To make it simple, we have listed the whole process for you.
The most common file types the digitizing companies use are outline files and expanded files. To make it simple, outline files are software specific while the expanded files are related to embroidery machines.
The ideal program or embroidery software that you may need depends on the workload. A small embroidery digitizing business may need a simple program. A complex business may need paid softwares that can handle tasks according to the situation. So, it all depends on your needs and wants. We, at MIG Digitizing, have all the required softwares to handle all types of designs, be it simple or complex to give our customers comfort and peace of mind.
We first started our embroidery digitizing business in 1989 locally which then turned into an international digitizing company in 2007. We have an experienced digitizing team who manages difficult and complex embroidery digitizing designs with perfection.
Typical embroidery software allows to create embroidery design files that define parametrized embroidery objects such as lines, sating columns or fill areas. These objects can be created directly through technical drawing or be translated (digitized) from vector drawings. From embroidery objects one can generated stitches that then can be exported to proprietary machine (stitch) formats that can uploaded to an embroidery machine.
Now a subjective (personal) opinion about the embroidery software market: It is very difficult to find out what software costs and - this is funny - where and how to buy. Some companies (like Bernina) seem to sell only through authorized resellers. Other companies have snotty sales people. E.g. email support from Wilcom wouldn't give a person from university of Geneva (who runs this wiki) the name of a Swiss dealer and even were implying that we were not smart enough learning their entry-level professional tool and showing our students how it works. Probably these guys never encountered any other drawing software or they might have a different idea of what "difficult" could mean. We regret to say so, but learning basic use of advanced embroidery software is easy for a technical person and takes no more than two weeks full time. Producing professional embroidery designs is more difficult and may take at least 7 years (but so does professional cooking, car racing or web page design ...)
I also noticed that too many embroidery websites do have HTML/JavaScript coding errors, e.g. some pages won't display on modern browsers. Not a good sign! Incompatibility and lagging behind technology is another problem. Often (according to forum complaints) does embroidery software have problems running under recent Windows versions. Some websites for high-end prosumer software (e.g. Bernina's and Wilcom's) seem to be well-made but do not provide any real feature list. On the opposite, Embird has a fairly ugly website, but it's fast, fully functional and even includes useful information. One could relate this site's web design philosophy to the facts that Embird software probably offers the best price/performance ratio besides (Stitch Era from Sierra) and that it is probably the most popular software suite for embroidery.
Important: If you plan buying any sort of design software, you should check if your type/brand is directly supported, i.e. if the software can export a design to model-specific file formats (like *.art, *.jef, *.pes, etc.). If it cannot, you then could use a converter, but this may be a lossy process and you will loose time. I couldn't find any serious information on how well various converters work. Therefore, I suggest finding out what other embroidery software is produced by the company providing the converter. E.g. Wilcom creates software for both Bernina and Janome. Therefore we might hypothesize that their free Truesizer converter program ought to be able to translate an .ART file (output of Bernina V6) to *.JEF (Elna/Janome machine format) without any mistakes.
