As someone who makes a living writing about golf, and frequently commenting on the professional game, I would love to pretend my friend is an outlier. He might be mad now, but this too shall pass, as the idiom goes.

When the Saudis came along and started looking for ways to launder their global reputation, a bunch of golfers suddenly became convinced they deserved to get paid significantly more than they had in the past. To be fair, that was their right. But in doing so, they have decided to take whatever goodwill their skills have built up (over many years) and light it on fire.

As easy as it would be to point the finger solely at those who went to LIV, there are very few innocent bystanders here. Those who stayed with the PGA Tour are now mud-wrestling over different piles of money and control. They do not seem to care if the sport (at least the professional version of it) is irrevocably broken in this process, as long as a handful of them achieve generational wealth.

I have Visual Studio Ultimate/Enterprise installed from a previous engagement. I've now started at a new place who only have licenses form VS Professional. So I need to downgrade but the supported route involves full uninstall and full reinstall which is obviously rather time consuming.

If you had previously installed VS Pro, as I had, you might be able to go to "Add/Remove Programs" and select "Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprise with Updates." Modify->Uninstall worked perfectly for me. Be sure to backup any settings, as some of mine got reset. My extensions stayed the same, though. To be clear, I had VS Pro first, and I installed Enterprise Evaluation side-by-side with it.

I'm in a similar situation, unfortunately there's no supported option besides the uninstall/reinstall route you've already mentioned. You could probably save some time by backing up all your extensions and settings etc. The processes outlined below might be different for more recent versions but I think the process would be similar

Edit:This is pretty weird, I'm starting to think that perhaps Drunken Code Monkey's solution is more accurate than I initially thought. I was expecting to have to follow the same process as Schneider described (uninstall / full reinstall), but as soon as the uninstall of VS Enterprise finished, I was able to open VS Pro as normal.

Just had to do this. You must first uninstall the enterprise edition. Visual Stuido Installer will complete the uninstall and when it's finished will prompt if you'd like to install a different version, such as Community.

we can download separate professional version of Visual studio EXE. Professional and enterprise run side by side in our machine but need separate 2 license for those 2. if you want to downgrade you visual studio from Enterprise to professional just need to install EXe using below link

I had a moment of weakness today agreed to update my ArcGIS Professional with the latest version: 1.0.0.1808. But unfortunately, it is crashing so bad that its unusable and I need to rollback. Is this possible or is my only option to uninstall completely and reinstall from an earlier version?

1.1 (full release) will be available shortly. The help landing page will always mention the newest (current) version. The closest item to a list of versions released, and when they were released can be found here on the support-patches website.

For the 1.0.x versions of ArcGIS Pro, no, you cannot roll back from one version to another. You'd have to uninstall and download the old one. In 1.1 and onward, this may change (ability to remove patch), but since 1.1 and any potential patches haven't been released, I can't confirm this will happen.

Recently I updated my Premier App from version 12.x.x to 13.1.5. Upon launching with the newer version, I immediately encountered driver issues which prevented me from effectively using Premier. To my dismay, when I tried to rollback to the previous version of the app, I was no longer able to find it on the list. In fact, the list only showed me 14.0.0 and 13.1.5 which is a far cry from what Adobe has offered in the past.

First, why is there a third party website claiming they are allowed to control all previous versions of your app? I have no reason to trust that link or website. I do not feel comfortable downloading anything from them.

Second, why can't Adobe offer their customers the ability to use previous versions of their apps? You have a reputation of "move fast and break things" which causes new bugs to appear in every release. The ability to not roll back a couple versions is a disservice to your customers, in my opinion.

Thank you for the reply. The concerning part to me is I did not remove the previous version. I clicked the update button that was presented to me, found the update did not work with my computer specs, and now I am unable to roll back to a previous version.

Unfortunately it appears Adobe has made a business decision to stop supporting Premier 2018 or later (as seen in the first comment). Adobe has removed the ability to obtain these versions from Creative Cloud. All I can say is I am disappointed and I know I am just one person so Adobe has no reason to provide a solution.

Using the creative cloud desktop app, navigate to all apps then scroll through your installed apps to Premier Pro. Click on the 3 dots next to "Open". In the pop-up window you will then be able to scroll through Older versions and install from there. Hope this helps.

I have a problem that has been going on for a long time.
Only on live viewing.
Suddenly the live goes back 15/20 seconds. Without producing a hang or black screen afterwards.
This problem does not appear permanently, perhaps once or twice a day, during a live viewing time of about 4 hours.
Before, I had a Z8 pro and everything was ok, then the problem appeared following the purchase of a Z10 pro max. I thought the Z10 had a defect...But recently, I bought a Z11 Pro max and the problem is still present...

This provider is a premium, several of my friends and family use it with Z8 pro or Z alpha, they have never had this rollback problem.
I continue to look for the problem, I contacted my reseller, he doesn't understand at the moment, I'm waiting for his news.
Curious all this....

Ok thanks for your help Sam.
I took good note of your advice.
But, for 2 days, I have been given a Z8 pro, I have absolutely no problem!
Formuler take this problem into account?
Or do I have to take back an old device so as not to be bored?
It would be a shame though....

I see that the problem affects a lot of people.
For my part, I am in France.
I tested several French servers, nothing changed.
I confirm, ok on Z8 and Z alpha for my part.
Problem on Z11 and Z10.
The problem happens very randomly, it will be difficult to provide a video of this problem. I will try anyway.
With the sent log that I sent, not possible to analyze the problem?

I have the same problem and contacted my provider. He answered me back and said that he had set my server connection to VPN. Then there were no rollbacks anymore till the last software update for the formuler z11 Pro Max. Now i, ve change my VPN protocol (Nord Vpn)from automatic to UDP, and the problem is gone for now.

These rollback problems are not new, ive also had then on my z10 pro max and now on the z11 pro max. Ive also tried everything and reported this several times. Also family on a Z8 and Z8+ dont have these rollbacks, with the same internet and iptv provider. Ive tried the boxes of family at my home and my box there. It only happens on the z10/z11.

Common staff/admins, dont act like this is new. There are several threads about the exact same problem on this forum. Always asking for recordings and giving the same advice. As you can read it happens to several people, with several providers and in different countries. Could it be a Formuler z10/z11 problem?

I think that's no directly possible. However you would be interested in .NET 2.0 System.Transactions support and TransactionScope. Please read LLBLGenPro Help - Using generated code - Transactions - .NET 2.0: System.Transactions support.

For readability, I'd still use the try/catch/finally (and beware: don't use throw ex;, use throw; )the main reason is that there are scenario's where you can't rollback yourself, because the db already has rolled back the connection, for example in sqlserver with an error with severity level 16 or higher (e.g. fk violation with delete). Sqlserver then rollsback the transaction in progress and the client side ado.net object has no clue that this happened, and gets 'zombied' (there's even code in sqltransaction to check if it's a zombie ).
