I am available anytime. I am coordinating a UN health cluster
taskforce on registration and tracking of patients. I believe IT needs
to be used here, we proposed a tiered approach with a rapid simple
system implemented in the next days and then building into it a stron
IT platform. I will send the group the summary of the meeting.

Thanks, Carlos. Laura, At which hospital are you located? We will
begin field testing an iPhone app called iChart at Fond Parisien as
early as Wednesday, but I would like to pursue testing of an SMS-based
alternative as well. I need to get back up to speed on the progress
of this group after traveling yesterday, but the present plan is to
test two alternatives over the next week. Any current patient data
entered into a spreadsheet today should be easily transferred to the
database of whichever app we decide upon, so it's a good start and a
great help. It may also help us refine what information fields we
need to ensure the software includes.
We are refining software specs now and will get them out asap, but it
looks like they will end up being just a list of requests for existing
software to meet through relatively minor modifications, rather than
something we want to build from the ground up.
Thanks to all--this work will have a huge impact on patients' lives!

Hi Aman,
Apologies for not keeping you up to date over the past 24 hours. What
we would like to do is a simultaneous trial of the iPhone-based app
iChart and your own SMS-based app, to see for ourselves which works
better given the situation. Can you work with Carlos to get him what
would be required at Fond Parisien to do so with a subset of doctors
there? Carlos, thoughts on this?

I have a blackberry 8310 and a simple nokia, both java enabled.
So we can test as well.
Preliminary data has been collected in pilot site. Review and see if
phone apps discussed can handle it properly.
